More than 3.6 million people every year miss their scheduled appointments due to transportation issues. This has implications for the patients' health and well-being, and lowers the productivity and revenue of medical providers as they are hit with unfilled appointments.
Sutter Shared Services has partnered with Lyft to provide patients with an alternative means of getting to and from their non-emergent medical appointments. For customers of our services currently provided through our national contact center, Patient Service Representatives (PSRs) will use Lyft's web-based Concierge platform to schedule rides on behalf of qualified patients.
The Benefits
- Increased fill rates, decreased no shows
- Simple, real-time monitoring
- Integrated with our 24/7 contact center
How It Works
As PSRs schedule an appointment for an existing patient of a medical provider customer, the need for transportation help is identified.
PSR accesses Lyft's web-based Concierge platform, and schedules a same-day or future ride on behalf of the patient.
The patient receives a text with the driver's identity and arrival time. The medical provider also accesses Lyft's dashboard to monitor the status of the ride for predictability of scheduling.
Lyft provides a one-way or roundtrip ride to the non-emergent appointment.
The patient is delivered to their appointment safely and on time. |
